Ode to the Garmin 405

This watch is amazing.  It is definitely worth the investment if you are a serious runner.  I am hoping that it will shame me into running faster every training run because it tells me live during my runs my actual pace.  As a result, if I feel like I am speeding along and look down and see 9:32/mile, I know I need to pick it up.

This weekend I got some serious miles in.  Yesterday was a very slow 10 miles (of which about 6 were on the actual beach) and today I squeezed in 5 miles before my soccer game at a sub 9:00/mile pace.  My legs now feel like they weigh about 200 pounds each.  Only five more days of Debbie Sieber and then I'm fully focused on the marathon.  Hopefully I'll get down to training at an 8:30-8:40/mile pace.  This will take some work because this weekend's runs revealed just how out of running shape I am.  Good thing the marathon isn't until May 31st!
