To me, one of life's great mysteries is what takes females so long in the bathroom. This was emphasized to me this past weekend at the Black Eyed Peas concert, when every line for the "Ladies" bathroom was 10+ people long and none of the men's restrooms had lines. I can understand that women are more focused than men on the mirror after they exit the stall because they need to touch up their make up, etc.
However, what remains a mystery to me is exactly what ladies do in the stall that takes them so much longer than men. In fact, I've started to get so annoyed by it that I have a proposed solution to the problem. I think there should be a timer that starts in the ladies restroom as soon as a lady locks her stall. After 30 seconds in the stall, a warning timer should sound. If after another 30 seconds the lady still hasn't finished up with whatever it is she is doing in the stall, a stream of water will shoot up from beside the toilet, strongly encouraging her to move out of the stall ASAP. This provides a strong incentive (and a reminder) for the ladies to move quickly from the stalls. Otherwise us females will continue to face ridiculous lines at concerts and bars in general for the foreseeable future.
And if any blog readers have a plausible suggestion for why it is that women take so much longer than men in the stalls, I'd love to hear it.
